Self-described ‘Survivor’ ‘nerds’ Christian Hubicki and Gabby Pascuzzi tie for who’ll win ‘David vs. Goliath’

Christian Hubicki and Gabby Pascuzzi, the self-described “nerds” of “Survivor: David vs. Goliath,” are now tied for who’ll win the $1 million prize. According to the predictions of our readers, both members of the David tribe have 5/1 odds to win, putting them ahead of Jeremy Crawford (third place at 13/2 odds), Nick Wilson (fourth place at 15/2 odds) and last week’s frontrunner Dan Rengering (fifth place at 17/2 odds). This season of CBS’s long-running reality TV show pits underdogs (the Davids) against over-achievers (the Goliaths) or, as the latest preview trailer calls them, the “powerful” and the “geeky.” Tallahassee, Florida resident Christian and Denver, Colorado native Gabby have fully embraced their weird ways at the David camp, flocking to one another in the Season 37 premiere and creating a strong friendship.

The duo is quickly becoming one of the season’s strongest alliances. Just last week they voted together to blindside Jessica Peet (along with Elizabeth Olson, Lyrsa Torres and Nick) after Jessica made Gabby feel uncomfortable about the vote. The fact that Christian and Gabby can go from controlling who goes home one week to basket-weaving the next week suggests this duo will be fun to watch as “Survivor: David vs. Goliath” heats up.

If our racetrack odds are correct, either Christian or Gabby will follow in the footsteps of nerdy Season 26 winner John Cochran of “Survivor: Caramoan.” Cochran was a surprise challenge winner that season, taking three immunity victories and partaking in four rewards post-merge. His social game was also quite impressive, as he gained respect from all of the jury members and ended up winning unanimously against Dawn Meehan and Sherri Biethman.
